Developing Partnerships for Sustainable Water Management and Agriculture in the context of Climate and Global Change

Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Indiana (USA), from 11 May 2010 to 12 May 2010

The Office for Science and Technology of the French Embassy, French Consulate in Chicago, and the Purdue University Global Engineering Program are co-organizing a French American Symposium on Developing Partnerships for Sustainable Water Management and Agriculture in the context of Climate and Global Change. It will take place at Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Indiana (USA) on May 11th and 12th of 2010.

The symposium's goal is to develop strong US-French partnerships addressing issues of climate change, sustainable water management, and agriculture (including research, education, and industry).

Sessions aim to:

  • present the needs and skills to policy makers, research laboratories, and firms
  • participate in the debate and develop new opportunities for partnerships and R&D projects
  • promote collaborative initiatives in research, innovation and education between France and the United States

In addition to its expertise concerning water and soil, IRD also wishes to introduce into this collaboration the participation of some developing countries and to bring its experiment regarding capacity building in the topics of the symposium.
