Gemstones: Geology and Gemology

The workshop II on gemstones will focus on the geology of the deposits and the gemology of high value gemstones. It consists in
- two days full course
- one day of practical gemology based on the identification of gemstones, their host-rocks and their prospection
- a field trip of three days in the Voi region, in the south of Nairobi, with the aim to visit several types of deposits (ruby and tsavorite).
