Logbook "MADE" - D5

Yesterday evening, after tagging the last 2 tuna, we decided to head towards the island of Mozambique to get fuel, water and food.

We arrived on the island during the morning. Thanks to a contact established before (owner of a guest house), we could buy fuel and water. We will leave the island tomorrow after buying food.

We receive data from the tagged fish every 12h via satellite. Of the 22 tagged fish, 21 were detected by the hydrophone attached to the FAD.

This morning, by 06:00 am, 20 fish were still around the FAD.

The swimming depths of each fish is simultaneously recorded which helps us to observe the vertical stratification of the fish community around the FAD.
