Overfishing : the point of view of Daniel Pauly

Daniel Pauly, biologist of fishings, were accomodated in residence by the IRD at the halieutic Research centre Mediterranean and Tropical of Sète during several months.
He is regarded as the largest specialist in the world of his discipline. Director of the Center of fishings from the university British Columbia in Vancouver (Canada), it received in 2005 the price Cosmos, the equivalent of the Nobel for research in ecology.
The concepts, methods and software that Daniel Pauly co-developed, documented in more than 500 scientific publications or of general interest, are used throughout the world (Ecopath model, Fishbase encyclopaedia, course on line…).
