Thanks to the support of the French Embassy in Thailand, IRD was able to exhibit the panels "Black Carbon: the dark side of human activity" in the ESCAP premises during the seventh session of the Committee on Environment and Development from November 29 to December 1, 2022.
From November 29 to December 1, the seventh session of the Committee on Environment and Development took place at ESCAP on the theme "Protecting our planet through regional cooperation and solidarity in Asia and the Pacific". On this occasion, IRD was able to display the exhibition "Black Carbon: the dark side of human activity".
During this event, Dr. Xavier Mari, IRD Representative in Thailand met Dr. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, ESCAP Secretary General. He presented her the different panels and gave her additional explanations. Many exchanges on the stakes of the air pollution as well as on its national, regional and international issues happened during this visit.
Xavier Mari also presented the exhibition to Dr Suksan Kittisupakorn from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The visit was an opportunity to exchange on the research projects conducted by IRD but also on the problems caused by air pollution in metropolises such as Bangkok.
