The "NExT COVID-19" project of the Vientiane University of Health Sciences and the TransVIHMI IMU has been selected to receive funding from the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie.

The "NExT COVID-19" project initiated at the request of the hospital team and by the Faculty of Nursing of the Vientiane University of Health Sciences in Laos has been selected for funding under a special Covid 19 fund. It was chosen from among 438 projects from 238 universities and member institutions of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in 60 countries. "NExT COVID-19" is developed by the University of Health Sciences of Vientiane, in partnership with the Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute (LaoTPHI), the Pierre Fabre Foundation as well as by the Research Institute for Development (TransVIHMI).

The "NExT COVID-19" project aims to explore the impact of the pandemic on the working conditions and safety of nurses in hospitals in Vientiane, through a participatory and multidisciplinary approach. This will involve identifying the impacts of the pandemic on the lives, experiences and practices of healthcare staff. The results of this research will be used to think up and co-construct with these teams training and awareness-raising workshops aiming to promote adapted practices to the new health context.
