Sustainable and reliable tools to control zoonotic diseases in Zimbabwe

Following the upgrading of a biomolecular lab thanks to the CAZCOM project, the launch of the PACMAN project strengthens the autonomy of Zimbabwe to control animal and zoonotic diseases.

Wanda Markotter, a professor at the University of Pretoria and a partner of IRD researchers in Zimbabwe, coordinates the field trip and oversees the students taking samples on bats.

Zimbabwe: Research carries on, from laboratory to remote working

Florian Liégeois, an IRD virologist, has been hosted by the University of Zimbabwe, in Harare, for the past few months. The country having implemented lockdown regulations since last April, he and his partners needed a new organisation so that their research on coronaviruses continues.
