In January 2023, as part of the HEALTH Expertise France, project, Pascale HANCART PETITET, anthropologist (TransVIHMI) and Nico HERTWECK, filmmaker, shot the film "Birth in the Forest". The aim of this documentary, based on an ethnographic approach and scientific data, is to show and understand, at different scales of analysis, the social, economic, political, cultural and gendered determinants which, in isolated rural areas of southern Laos, underlie the definition of the spaces allocated to women at the time of childbirth and lead some women to give birth in the forest.
