In Thailand, IRD collaborates with more than twelve higher education institutions, both public and private, including seven of the top nine "National Research Universities" in the country.
IRD has many partners among Thailand's governmental institutions such as the Land Development Department (LDD), Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA) which is in charge of international technical cooperation from overseas partnerships, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and Thailand Research Fund (TRF) which deal with research and its funding, and the Department of National Parks, Plants and Wilderness Conversation (DNP).
IRD representative office in Thailand also maintains close ties with the Thai Ministries of Public Health, Agriculture and Education, as well as with all the other French institutions operating in Thailand.
Most of the research programmes have a regional scope and also involve institutional and academic partners from neighbouring countries.
IRD researchers in Thailand put their scientific expertise at the service of sustainable development challenges by providing support to projects from civil society.
