Junior Professorships are open to researchers with a PhD or equivalent qualification. The Institute launched the program at the end of 2021.

Researchers following the IRD Junior Professorship program (CPJs) reach tenure as a research director after five years. The research project, financed by the National Research Agency (NRA), is organized by the IRD with a partner university. The program was established under the research programming law (LPR).

Three new Junior Professorships in line with IRD's research strategy are open until May 31, 2023 :

There is no age limit or nationality requirement for applications. A selection committee, at least half of which is made up of academic staff and researchers from outside IRD, examines applications based on the research project presented by the applicant.

The deadline for applications is May 31, 2023 at 11:59 pm (CET). The start date for successful applicants is planned for the end of 2023.

IRD program since late 2021

The three successful applicants of the IRD's first Junior Professorships started in the LISAH, SOURCE, and IMBE units last fall.

They attended an induction meeting with their scientific supervisors and unit directors in early 2023, organized by the Director of Science (D2S) and led by the Research Evaluation and Programming Unit (MEPR) and Human Resources Department (DRH). The meeting optimized their induction, providing support and answers to their questions with information about how the new type of contract would be rolled out. They also presented their research projects.

The two successful CPJ applicants for 2022 begin this summer in the URMIS, TRANSVIHMI, and EGCE units.
