To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11th, Valérie Verdier, IRD's Chairman of the board and CEO, gave an opening speech during the webinar: "Inspiring Career Paths: Successful stories of Women in Science shattering the glass ceiling".

Organised by the Embassy of Mexico in Thailand, the French Embassy's Cooperation and Cultural Action Department and UN Women Asia and the Pacific with the support of the Asian Institute of Technology, this online event gave students and young people in Thailand and the region an opportunity to listen to inspirational success stories by women scientists from around the world.

Participants will also be able to exchange questions and insights with the panellists and other female scientists during two thematic breakout sessions: the first session from 12:00-2:00 PM (GMT+7) and the second session from 6:00-7:00 PM (GMT+7).
